The airlines have vowed to ‘vigorously rebut’ claims their partnership is a 'de facto merger,' saying their Northeast alliance boosts competition by offering new routes and increased service.
The angry response follows accusations that the US carrier is cooperating with American Airlines on routes “outside the scope” permitted by their new Northeast alliance.
