Virgin Atlantic revealed plans to open a route from London Heathrow to São Paulo, Brazil—marking its South American debut—as well as a new route to India.
The regional airline was the sole carrier on around a quarter of its route network, but the impact of its collapse will be far less severe than when the previous incarnation of Flybe failed almost three years ago.
Speaking at the GAD World conference in Amsterdam, Heathrow Airport CFO Javier Echave said setting requirements would create a “pipeline of consumption.”
