JetBlue has more than doubled its activities from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International over the past ten years and has grown capacity 78.3 per cent since the start of the decade, an average annual rise of 15.7 per cent. Its departure capacity was up 15.1 percent last year as Albany, Baltimore, Charleston, Cleveland, Detroit, Philadelphia, and Providenciales were all added as new destinations.
The four-times-weekly flights will operate between Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) and the airlines main base in Panama City, and will offer convenient connections to more than 55 destinations in Central and South America.
The Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport has surpassed 2004 Pre-Katrina passenger numbers, according to latest data from the US facility. Based on year-end 2014 statistics, the Airport served a total of 9,785,394 passengers, an increase of 6.3 per cent as compared to last year.
Allegiant Air will introduce flights between New Orleans and Cincinnati’s Northern Kentucky International Airport from February 4, 2015 and Rickenbacker International Airport in Columbus, Indianapolis International Airport and Orlando’s Sanford International Airport from February 5, 2015.
The famous PEOPLExpress brand will return to the US domestic market from June 30, 2014 after an agreement was reached to launch seven routes from Newport News Williamsburg International Airport using three 150-seat Boeing 737-400s contracted from Vision Airlines.
