After it emerged that British Airways is planning the launch of a subsidiary to run short-haul routes out of London Gatwick from next summer, Routes looks at the carrier’s operations from the UK airport pre-pandemic and the latest schedules filed for 2022.
The carriers have launched the first phase of their Northeast-focused alliance, which includes more than 30 new routes, almost 80 codeshares and aligned schedules in key markets.
JetBlue confirms it will take delivery of ten additional Airbus A321s in 2017 and nine of these will be configured in its MINT arrangement to be introduced on routes to Las Vegas, San Diego and Seattle from New York; to San Diego and Seattle from Boston and to Los Angeles and San Francisco from Fort Lauderdale.
The network growth follows an increase in demand between the US and St Lucia, located in the eastern Caribbean Sea and part of the Lesser Antilles. According to arrivals data, visitors are travelling to St Lucia at a record pace with international arrivals from the US currently up nine per cent versus last year.
