The airline is dropping nine domestic routes and one international service.

Virgin Australia is reducing domestic capacity by 90% and temporarily grounding 125 aircraft. Low-cost subsidiary Tigerair Australia has also suspended flights.

Regional Express (Rex) has announced the introduction increased flights between Cairns and Townsville from July.
