International routes can be central to Poland’s economic recovery but only if aircraft passenger restrictions are scrapped, industry leaders have warned.
The airport is developing a much closer relationship with the budget carrier and this has brought what was just a single route operation to and from Dublin just over a year or so ago, to an eight destination network, including flights revealed this week to Gdansk, Warsaw Modlin and Wroclaw.
The aviation sector in Poland plays an important role in the country’s economy and its network connectivity is unrecognisable today to that when the country joined the European Union in 2004, around 15 years after the end of communist rule. Wizz Air first launched operations in Poland in 2004 and has subsequently built up a strong presence in the country over the subsequent eleven years. As a result of these latest network additions it will now offer a total of 113 Polish routes to 20 countries from seven Polish airports.
Budget carrier Wizz Air has introduced an extra 5,000 seats to its schedule at Robin Hood Doncaster Sheffield for summer 2014 with the introduction of a third weekly rotation between April 17, 2014 and October 23, 2014 on its route from Wroclaw.
