Jessica is Executive Editor of Business & Commercial Aviation magazine. She started as Editor of ShowNews Online, Aviation Week's on-site trade show daily published at the Paris Air Show, NBAA Annual Convention, Singapore Air Show and at other significant aerospace gatherings.
Jessica has worked in television production and management consulting. While not yet a licensed pilot, Ms. Salerno has received flight instruction and has soloed.

At Memphis International Airport, a Citation 525, N242EP, departed on Taxiway M. The tower controller cleared the flight for takeoff on Runway 36L when the airplane was on Taxiway N. The crew acknowledged the clearance, turned right, and began takeoff roll on Taxiway M. The tower controller made two transmissions to advise the crew that they were departing on a taxiway. The crew acknowledged the advisory just after lifting off Taxiway M. Holding on Taxiway M was Pinnacle Airlines Flight 5905, a CRJ2.
At 2317 MDT, a King Air C90A, owned by Scenic Aviation and operated by Eagle Air Med, was destroyed when it impacted terrain during an en route descent, 22 miles east of Pagosa Springs, Colo. The medical positioning flight was being operated without a flight plan. The pilot, flight nurse and paramedic were fatally injured. The flight departed Chinle Municipal Airport (E91) in Arizona and was en route to San Luis Valley Regional Airport in Alamosa, Colo. The pilot contacted company dispatch at about 2255 with an estimated time of arrival in ALS of 2325.
