RAYTHEON AIRCRAFT said the time between overhaul on its Beech King Air B200 has increased from 3,000 hours to 3,600 hours thanks to internal airflow changes Pratt&Whitney Canada incorporated into the PT6A-42 turboprop engine. In addition to an increased TBO, Pratt&Whitney Canada is increasing the hot section inspection from 1,500 hours to 1,800 hours. Raytheon said existing B200 operators can retrofit their engines to incorporate the changes.
FLIGHT OPTIONS, INC., the Cleveland, Ohio fractional aircraft ownership provider that sells shares in used aircraft, signed its 100th customer less than nine months after beginning the fractional program. "We are very pleased with the market's acceptance and understanding of the inherent value provided by pre-owned aircraft, and we continue to see increasing demand," said Kenn Ricci, chairman and chief executive.
FAIRCHILD AEROSPACE CORP. won FAA type certification July 15 for its 32-passenger 328JET regional aircraft, the final approval required for the company to begin deliveries to U.S. customers. The FAA action follows similar approval earlier in the month by the European Joint Aviation Authorities (BA, July 12/18).

WAUKESHA, WIS. COUNTY AIRPORT is developing a new Crites Field Commerce Center that will accommodate eight hangar units varying in size from 14,400 to 40,000 square feet. Waukesha is accepting lease arrangements for the private/corporate hangars with a 20-year base agreement that includes two five-year lessee options. Waukesha plans to charge $0.17 per square foot through this year with subsequent CPI annual adjustments. The hangars will include space for storage and other amenities such as offices, conference room, kitchen and restrooms.
Model SD-3-30 series airplanes (Docket No. 98-NM-349-AD) - proposes to require modification of electrical wiring associated with heater components. This proposal is prompted by issuance of mandatory continuing airworthiness information by a foreign civil airworthiness authority. Canadian manufacturer Diamond Aircraft Industries under new owner Peter Chambers is reshuffling its top management and bidding farewell to President Michael Slingluff. Australian financier Chambers acquired the London, Ontario operations of the single-engine plane-maker late last month from the Dries, a German family involved in varying business interests. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The Dries family held on to Diamond Aircraft Industries GmbH of Wiener Neustadt, Austria, where both the DA-20 Katana trainer and larger DA-40 Diamond Star were designed.
STEPHANIE CALCAGNI was named assistant manager for Million Air Richmond. Calcagni, who holds a bachelor of science degree in aeronautical science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, joined Million Air Richmond in 1993. Beech Models 45 (YT-34), A45 (T-34A, B-45), and D45 (T-34B) airplanes (Docket No. 99-CE-22-AD; Amdt. 39-11193; AD 99-12-02) - publishes in the Federal Register an AD that was sent previously to all known U.S. owners and operators of the affected airplanes. This AD requires incorporating operating limitations that restrict operation of the airplanes to normal category operation and prohibit them from acrobatic and utility category operations; limit the flight load factor to 0 to 2.5 G; and limit the maximum airspeed to 175 miles per hour (152 knots).
